[ the accumulation of small surprises keeps his mind surprisingly sharp despite the desire attempting to dull his remaining senses. or— was it actually heightening them? at this stage, it was relatively difficult to discern. as much as he feels lightheaded by their exchanged breaths and warmth, there is a certain part of him that feels mildly more relaxed. finding comfort in their close proximity. while he's always desired him in some form (fighting counts, right??), he didn't expect it to evolve into this.
he's rightfully shocked when shealtiel doesn't push him away. though, when he thinks about it, perhaps, it was that he couldn't. whatever it was that fueled this shift in attitude, it was a welcome all the same. but, what stuns him more is when shealtiel grabs hold of him actually begins... pulling him along? he half-wonders where the strength in his body is from. while normally, mort would have easily lopped off the limb of anyone who tried to lead him anywhere...
he essentially has enough respect for shealtiel that he feels no innate need for that. but, beyond that, it was no lie to state he wasn't really in the right mindset for straight up carnage as he normally was. more importantly, in being dragged along, it was quite obvious for what shealtiel may have been seeking, and for once, he finds it in him to actually comply. he pulls back slightly, if just to direct him to what appears to be some sort of warehouse?
if there is a lock, he definitely doesn't seem to have any qualms breaking it as he pulls it open, if just to shut it behind them in haste. as much as shealtiel wants him to say something, perhaps speak and dissipate any of this tension that's built— ] Such as? there is no excuse for this. he just presumes if this is what that desire is, they should move quickly to abate and quell it, and it wasn't like mort to feel any real sense of shame. especially not in front of shealtiel. ]
